Electoral Committee Submits Election Report

Following the conclusion of the Estate’s general elections to fill the vacant positions of Chairman, Legal Adviser and Security Chairman held on the 25th of October 2025, the Electoral Committee has delivered their report at the general meeting of Sat. November 15th, 2025.

Capt. Mopelola Iyiola, a member of the Electoral Committee, told the house that after the elections a new Chairman was returned, but the positions of Legal Advisor and Security Chairman are still vacant because they had no contestants.

Furthermore, the Electoral Committee chairman, Engr. Stanley Somiari thanked the house for the time to serve, commended the candidates for their contributions and ideas, and encouraged them to work closely with the chairman-elect for the development of the estate. He explained that his team worked together to ensure that the entire process was free, fair and credible; he believes the results reflect the will of the residents. He shared that they received applications from four candidates, but a candidate later pulled out. There were a total of Two Hundred and Ten (210) votes, without any invalid votes, putting the total turnout at 61%. Prof. Aniekan Ekere polled 12 votes, Barr. Jamiu Akolade polled 88 votes, while Cdre. David Tubonimi who polled 110 votes, representing the majority, was declared duly elected and returned as the Chairman.

He advised the new chairman to lead with humanity and transparency. He reiterated that the Legal Adviser and Security Chairman position are still vacant.
